FREE CAREER RESOURCES

Free Courses and Certifications

Find reputable learning providers and understand what is free before enrolling.

Choose learning that addresses a real gap

Start with a skill required by the roles you seek. Pick one course, complete the practice work and build a small example you can explain. A completion badge is not the same as a degree, regulated professional registration or a guaranteed job.

The original provider pages below were checked on 21 October 2026. Course catalogues, access rules and credential conditions can change. Check the specific course page before enrolling. JobLink does not issue certifications.

Original providers

OpenLearn, The Open University (opens in a new tab)

Free courses across subjects including computing, business, education and health. Check the selected course for any statement of participation or badge and its requirements; these are not an Open University degree.

IBM SkillsBuild, Adult Learners (opens in a new tab)

The provider describes free online technology and career learning with digital credentials. Account, course and credential requirements vary; confirm them on the original course page.

Pick a useful learning path

  • Administration or NYSC: spreadsheets, business writing, presentation and data handling.
  • Technology: computing foundations, digital safety and a practical project relevant to your target role.
  • Graduate or career change: communication, teamwork, problem-solving and evidence of applying a skill.
  • Teaching or healthcare: use learning to support practice within your competence. A short online course does not replace required professional training or registration.

Check the certificate conditions

  • Is the learning itself free? Is there an assessment, badge or completion statement?
  • Is a certificate included, optional or charged separately? Read the actual provider’s terms.
  • Check prerequisites, language, time commitment, accessibility and device requirements.
  • On your CV, use the exact course and provider name, date and credential type. Do not claim a professional certification when you completed only a course.
